The overall nursing shortage has made it difficult for the military to meet it's nursing recruitment goals. Civilian nurses working under contract with the military are serving their country with distinction.
SHR Employees Participate in St. Louis Race for the Cure
Spectrum Healthcare Resources had 70 employees sign up to participate in the St. Louis Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 10th. Thanks so much for everyone that came out to the race. Jonathan Sadowski was our top male finisher at 18:20. Susan Zaber was our top female finisher at 25:12.

Twenty-three TeamHealth emergency physicians from Manatee Memorial Hospital and Lake Wood Ranch Medical Center have become associate members of the ENA to support their nursing staff.

Operation Kids and Colonels
In an effort to help our troops and the Iraqi people, Spectrum Healthcare Resources will be hosting a collection for "Operation Kids & Colonels" during the month of July. We will be collecting a variety of items, such as lotion, toilet paper, water bottles, sandals, and sports equipment, for distribution through Operation Kids & Colonels. Sergeant Melissa Thornhill, a former Spectrum employee, brought this participation opportunity to our attention.
TeamHealth Client Hospital Receives Patient Satisfaction Scores in top 90th Percentile
TeamHealth hospital medicine client, Horizon Medical Center, placed in the 90th percentile for inpatient satisfaction for the first quarter of 2006.
Inpatient survey results from The Gallup Organization for the first quarter of 2006 list Horizon Medical Center, a TeamHealth hospital medicine client, in the top 9 percent of all hospitals surveyed. Horizon also moved up in the ranking of hospitals within its parent company, Hospital Corporation of America, rising to the top 10 percent of the 182 hospitals. The hospital, a member of the TriStar Health System, is located in Dickson, Tennessee.
