Spectrum Healthcare Resources Awarded Joint Commission Certification

ST. LOUIS, MO - September 29, 2005 - Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR), a leading provider of medical staffing services to the U.S. Military Healthcare System and TRICARE program, today announced it has been awarded certification by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

JCAHO's Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification Program provides an independent, thorough evaluation of a staffing firm's ability to provide competent staffing services and deliver high-quality healthcare. The certification verifies that SHR meets JCAHO national standards regarding overall qualifications; the skill, competency, and performance of SHR healthcare professionals; and appropriate and efficient assignment and utilization of staff.

"Healthcare organizations that contract with SHR can look to this certification as an assurance that SHR demonstrates a commitment to providing and continuously improving quality services," said Michele Sacco, executive director of HCSS for JCAHO.

"Spectrum Healthcare Resources has provided world-class healthcare staffing services for military men, women, and their families since 1988," Cathy Vivirito, SHR President, said. "We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help ensure that the care provided in our military treatment facilities is consistent with the tremendous sacrifices the men and women in uniform make for the nation on a daily basis. We believe we owed this certification to our patients and to the great uniformed medical personnel with whom we work."

SHR products and services are tailored to fulfill the specific needs of the military healthcare system, including meeting unique patient needs, sustaining the Department of Defense's ability to rapidly deploy military medical personnel in support of domestic and international operations, and meeting the military's extremely high standards for patient care and patient safety. Vivirito said, "JCAHO certification is one more way we can assure the Department of Defense and its beneficiaries that we are the right partner for staffing services." To date, only 50 healthcare staffing companies have earned the JCAHO certification.
