We ARE in fact in Kansas! Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) was awarded a position on the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Services contract. This opportunity allows Spectrum to provide medical support staff to Army, Navy, Air Force and other Military Treatment Facilities across the U.S, Guam and Puerto Rico. We are proud that one of the many military facilities SHR works with is Fort Riley, KS!
Fort Riley may be commonly known as a military base, but there is so much more that is worth knowing about this Midwest gem. Located in Manhattan, Kansas, Fort Riley holds many titles: military base, historical monument, and home to more than 10,000 soldiers on base. Regardless if you are visiting for a week or just driving through, there’s something in Fort Riley for you and your family. On base, there are many different types of activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. The Hobby Studio is a great place for relaxing arts and crafts services or you can spend you day outside exploring The Adventure Park. Spend the day by the water at the Fort Riley Marina and end the night catching a movie at the Barlow Movie Theater.
Nearby, there are even more communities to explore. A short drive away, Junction City offers an interactive and historical experience. Explore “Fort Riley’s Hometown” and check out the ‘Main Street’ gallery: an interactive, realistic gallery of 1900 business fronts. The unique displays range from accurate clothing exhibits to a true Kansas farm kitchen of the 1920’s.
Statewide, there’s even more to offer. Kansas City is a great place to spend some time exploring. While it is about a two-hour drive, the drive is worth it. Attractions like The Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, great stores to shop in the Country Club Plaza, and the best barbeque restaurants are waiting for you.
