This year, Spectrum Healthcare Resources celebrated the first “Be Thankful” campaign. Participants were asked to submit entries of what they were thankful for this year for a chance to win Spectrum goodies and to be featured on our social media channels.
This year’s winner is Laurie Mrad, Credentials Supervisor (pictured below)! Here is her full submission:
“This is what I’m thankful for. These are my two dogs, Mika and Asia. I had this picture made into a mouse pad that I keep at my desk. Anytime I’m stressed all I have to do is look down at my mouse pad.
These two little girls have shown so much unconditional love that I’m not sure what I would do without them. Every year I write a Christmas song (or part of one) that involves my dogs and I put it in my Christmas Cards. Here is part of the song I wrote about these two last year (sung to Joy to the World):
Joy to the World
Mika came home
She’d run right out the door.
Searched thru fields & floods, rocks hills & plains
To find her standing there
Right at the front door.
Oh Mika, Oh Mika don’t run anymore
Joy to the World
Asia has a toy
She’s got it in her mouth.
She wanders through the house, squealing like she’s hurt
But she’s happy as can be
She comes and sits there at my feet
Oh Asia, Oh Asia you’re just so sweet
Once again I have had times where people in my life may let me down but my dogs have NEVER let me down!!! I am thankful every day for the love and affection that they give me.”
Thank you to all who participated and shared with us this year!
