A Clinician Perspective: Leadership during a Crisis

Spectrum’s CMO Shares Thoughts on Clinical Leadership during COVID-19

St. Louis – Spectrum Healthcare Resources, Inc. (Spectrum) leadership and administrative teams continue to meet regularly to discuss the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic and how it affects clinicians across the organization.

“Authenticity, transparency and remaining engaged is critical when coping with any crisis,” Dr. James Boehlke, Chief Medical Officer explains, “At Spectrum, we have a wealth of resources available to our clinicians in the field including real-time surveillance of the pandemic’s progress, methods to limit its spread and proven medical approaches in providing patient care during this time.”

In early July, Spectrum launched an internal communication platform through Zenith as a way to remain connected with staff. A channel has been designated to COVID-19 case variations, vaccine development and continuing medical education opportunities related to the virus. These resources help to create a knowledgeable clinical workforce and foster higher positive patient outcomes amid COVID-19.

“As a clinician, keeping a positive attitude while remaining vigilant is crucial in treating patients and managing their care” Dr. Boehlke states, “As the situation continues to fluctuate, challenges may grow in complexity, but we are confident that the measures Spectrum and our parent company, TeamHealth, have in place will continue to prove helpful to us and the patients we serve.”

Spectrum Healthcare Resources® (Spectrum) was established in 1988 to deliver systems, programs and processes designed to meet the unique needs of Military, government and VA Health Systems.  Spectrum is the leading organization that provides physician and clinical staffing and program management services to United States Military Treatment Facilities, VA clinics and other Federal Agencies through various contracting vehicles.
